Cyber Range Simulation and Risk Services From Airbus Protect
Airbus Cybersecurity operates as part of Airbus Protect, the group's risk management arm covering safety, cybersecurity, and sustainability for aviation, industrial manufacturing, energy, transport, government, and defence customers. Its cybersecurity practice spans consulting, audits and governance, penetration testing, red and purple teaming, managed detection and response, and a 24/7 CSIRT for incident response and digital forensics. Industrial and OT environments are a standing focus, reflecting the group's own manufacturing and aerospace engineering base.
The CyberRange platform anchors the training side of the portfolio. It is a simulation environment where users assemble virtual infrastructures from a built-in component library, model IT and OT systems made up of tens to hundreds of virtual components, and connect external physical assets for hybrid topologies. Scenarios are built and orchestrated from a starter-pack library of machines, actions, life generators, and cyber attacks, then delivered to trainees through a browser over standard HTTPS with no extra software to install.
CyberRange ships as SaaS, on-premise, or a portable mobile box, and is structured for four audiences: newcomers practising on realistic scenarios, integrators designing virtual or hybrid networks, trainers orchestrating collaborative courses, and experts building complex attack chains. A companion module, COGNITIO, simulates a complete infosphere with generated content for influence campaign exercises. Airbus Protect also runs the platform as a service, pairing it with consultants for cyber crisis management training.
