
Binary-Level Vulnerability Analysis and Runtime Protection for Embedded Systems
BlueRISC is a security research and product company founded in 2002 and based in Amherst, Massachusetts, with a second office in Vero Beach, Florida. It builds system assurance technology for high-consequence environments: defense platforms, automotive electronics, nuclear instrumentation and control, and other embedded systems. Much of its work originates in government research programs, including projects for DARPA, the Department of Defense, the Air Force, and the Department of Homeland Security, and the company reports activity across 21 countries.
The flagship product on the code security side is ThreatSCOPE, which analyzes compiled binaries rather than source, so firmware and third-party components can be examined without the original vendor's cooperation. It combines static analysis with LLM-driven reasoning and agentic AI validation to surface and confirm vulnerabilities before they are exploited. ImmuneSoft complements it as a lightweight runtime layer for embedded targets, blocking execution-hijacking attacks on devices that cannot carry a conventional endpoint agent.
Around that core sits a wider assurance portfolio: WindowsSCOPE for cyber forensics, EM ICSense for non-invasive integrated-circuit analysis, GNSS IntelliSense for satellite-navigation integrity and spoof detection, ThreatSense for nuclear instrumentation and control risk, and UniQore secure softcore processors. The company also develops the Baynetics Bayesian AI accelerator and, on the consumer side, the EPRIVO private email and identity protection service. The breadth reflects its origins as a research lab rather than a single-product vendor.
